Eastern Moors Partnership statement on coronavirus
On the Eastern Moors as everywhere in the world we are feeling the effect of social distancing measures due to the coronavirus outbreak.
In order to meet government advice on social distancing and to encourage people to stay at home and save lives, all Eastern Moors visitor facilities will now be closed until further notice. This includes the car parks at Curbar Gap, Shillito Woods and Birchen Edge. Additionally, we have postponed all our events and regular programmes including Walk Moor and Muck In days for the foreseeable future.
We urge people to stay at home. Please do not travel.
While nature remains important for our health and wellbeing, look for it in your own home – your garden, windowsill or balcony. The moors, valleys and woodlands will still be here when the time comes, please play your part in making sure we are all here to go back and greet them.
